January is the last month of the first ever Super Duper Blogger Book Exchange. Erin, Isabel, Audrey, Amberly and I are finishing up our final books (she sent it, you’ll get it soon), and by February 1st, they will be mailed back to their original owners.

To quickly re-cap how the SDBBE worked, each of us provided a book and was assigned a color. We read our selected books and used our assigned colors to add commentary in the pages. We marked what we liked, what we didn’t like, what made us laugh, and we added a lot of our own wit and good humor to our books. Then we each mailed our book to the next person. The Circle of Exchange went like this:

Each participant, hereby known as Sexy Exies (because we’re sexy and we ‘ex’changed books), had one book at a time and one month to complete it and mail it to the next person. At the upcoming close of the exchange, each of us will receive our original book back with colorful commentary from each of the other Sexy Exies. Even though some of us nearly hyperventilate at the thought of other people writing in our books, we will certainly treasure our newly found keepsakes.

I think that now is the perfect time to get things going with SDBBE Round II. To join in, please e-mail me at weekdaywisdom@gmail.com by January 20th. I’ll give you a color assignment, and you can get to work. The sooner you e-mail me, the more time you’ll have to pick out and prepare a book. I’ll also need to know which book you’ve chosen by January 20th (to avoid duplication-first come, first served), and the deadline for mailing the books will be February 15. The deadline will be the fifteenth of each month from then on, and I will try to arrange groups that will last no longer than four months.

Anyone is welcome, blog or no blog, but please keep in mind that you will be committed for a while, and you’ll need to be able to meet the mailing deadlines. The Circle of Exchange is dependent on everyone’s commitment to the deadline. Are you dependable? Good. You may play, but please keep in mind that you will likely have to read a book or two that you absolutely can not stand. If the first SDBBE proved anything, it’s that no one likes reading the same thing, but you might find something you love that you never would have picked out yourself.

Now, on to the fun part: choosing a book. There is a bit of criteria I ask you to follow in your selection:

  •  A quick read (approx. 300-350 pages or less)
  •  Content should not exceed PG-13
  •  Paperback is preferred

Used books are fine. It’s up to you. Happy Reading!
