I’ m so late on the bandwagon for posting a “100 Things” page that I’m pretty sure I’ve broken a rule or something by doing it now. It’s like starting to wear poodle skirts fifty years too late.
I’m usually really behind on trends and fashion
so the clearance rack and I are pretty good friends.
I used to be paranoid of clearance racks and thrift stores because I was worried what people would think of me if they saw me walking out of Savers with someone else’s dirty, old T-shirt.
Now I don’t care.
I love to brag about the jeans I bought for $3. 80 at Kohls, and
I don’t mind second-hand items as long as they’re relatively clean.
That includes the sexy black boots I bought for $4
(they must be out of style now because I own a pair).
I’m twenty-something years old, born on New Years Day. That makes it easy for me to keep track of calendar turnovers and age increases.
I used to be smart.
I love reading,
but I’m very picky about lending my affections to books.
I like a lot of books, but I love few.
When I do find a book I love, I can’t stop talking about it.
One of my favorites is Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross.
I really like TV.
Really.
But I haven’t watched much of it lately.
I’m particularly fond of The Office and LOST.
I have the hots Jack, but I still find myself drawn to Sawyer from time to time. Maybe it’s his dimples. But Jack would be my first choice. Definitely.
I’d like to start a petition to make Michael Scott be nice to Toby Flenderson.
I love going out to movies, but I rarely have the chance.
When I do go, I have a seating preference depending on the theater I’m in. I like to be able to put my feet on the bar.
I like to be in my seat half an hour before the show. That’s how particular I am about the bar.
I’m a very punctual person.
I think that being late is extremely rude.
I love make up, but I’m really bad at putting it on.
I usually have orange face and smeared eye shadow.
I look a lot like Shrek but without the green.
Sometimes I act like him, too.
I have social anxiety,
but I want to overcome it on my own, so I don’t take medication for it.
I’ve gotten a lot better since becoming a mom, but there are still things that frighten me
like walking into a store I’ve never been in
or having to ask someone a question.
I’m paranoid of unfamiliarity so I usually have to convince my mom or a friend to go with me to new places.
I once had a panic attack at work because I was asked to attend a conference thirty minutes before it started.
I didn’t have adequate time to prepare myself mentally or to become familiar with the building it was being held in.
I cried hysterically, and my boss was completely understanding and didn’t make me go.
I’ve had seven jobs in my life.
The first was at a bindery where I walked in circles around a table for hours and hours collating day planners. I think machines do that now.
Then I worked at a Snowie where I sat in a small booth alone all day and made snow cones.
My next job was at a boutique I like to call Crappers’ Showroom.
Then I worked at a donut shop.
I got fired from said donut shop by a sexist pig.
I was a waitress for a day at a Chinese Buffet. I quit because it was filthy and disgusting and the manager was a bitty.
During college I worked at a dairy.
I know my pints and quarts,
and I can detect spoiled milk from a mile away.
After I graduated I started working in Special Education.
I loved it, and I will forever be touched by the spirit of the kids I met there.
I went to a religious college.
I’ve never met so many liars and cheaters in my life.
My entire family plays the harmonica.
Me, too, but not well.
I play the piano, but I can’t sight read.
I’ve taken lessons to try and learn, but my mind can’t sort out the notes and make my fingers play them.
Anything I want to play I memorize.
I have a pretty good memory.

I can also say the alphabet backwards,
and I memorized all of the Presidents of the United States -not because I had to- but because I was bored one day.
I never bothered learning their first names. As far as I’m concerned, they’re all President So-and-so anyway.
I love gift giving.
When I’m alone in the house I sing a lot and make strange noises.
I also have practice conversations with myself,
and I karate kick my kitchen cupboards to close them.
I dance around in my family room a lot
and was totally embarrassed once when my husband came home unexpectedly and found me trying to do the splits.
I started dancing when I was three and haven’t had much opportunity to dance since high school.
I’ve taken some hip hop classes and belly dance classes since, but my body has been ruined.
I used to be able to do the splits and a scorpion.
I carried my first baby a week past his due date.
He was born by vacuum extraction.
I’m a stay at home mom.
Sometimes it’s really boring and lonely.
My best friend married my husband’s step-brother.
By pure coincidence, we ended up pregnant at the same time.
We had our babies twelve days apart.
I babysit my nephew every Thursday.
I have four sisters-in-law that went to high school with me.
My family is huge.
I have over thirty nieces and nephews.
Together my husband and I have 22 brothers and sisters.
I’m not very athletic, but I love playing volleyball. I’d play it every day if I could.
I hate swimming.
I don’t understand what you’re supposed to do in a pool.
I look hideous wet.
I live in Salt Lake City, UT, and I love it.
Most of my family lives within five minutes of my house.
I’m very involved in my church.
I attend every Sunday and host activities for the 8-9 year old girls every other Friday.
I have wide feet
so I buy my heels 1-2 sizes bigger to accommodate the largeness.
I don’t wear heels very often.
I love Chinese and BBQ.
I don’t like Italian and Mexican.
I have a lot of weaknesses I need to overcome,
but my greatest desire is to live a positive, influential life.
